Welcome to our community. We all live in this area formally called the Periodic Table of the Elements. Our 'hood was first organized by a Russian man, Dmitri Mendeleev. There is some controversy about that, but it is generally held that he is the "father" of the Periodic Table. We come from all different places to form this community. We all belong to different states, gases, solids, and a few liquids. Most of us can be found naturally, but there are some of us that are "made" men. After Uranium we are synthetic, and created by scientists using different elements and particle accelerators in most cases. Our home consists of 7 horizontal floors called periods. Our community is also organized into columns of rooms (although in some places there are empty rooms) called groups or families. Everyone in the same family or group has similar characteristics, just like human families. An example of where an element lives, or it's address is Oxygen which is located at period 2, family 16.
